2012: Release of the KELLY
Rain covers dedicated to CINELA windshields
Rain protection dedicated to each of the windshields: ALBERT, PIANO, PIANISSIMO, ZEPHYX and SURROUND/3D, made of a 3 cm thick foam with large open cells.
By the principle of the Kelly, each drop of rain breaks silently in the large cells of the foam, then slides along the inner fabric itself waterproofed with Nikwak spray® . The large size of the cells also allows water to flow naturally out of the foam (limited sponge effect).

KELLY Rain Cover
Its tight fit closely follows the shape of the windshield and allows it to keep the handling of boom unchanged. It is impossible and risky to add a fur under the rain cover (deformation of the foam, significant alteration of the acoustic transparency, waterlogged fur and excessive wobbling).
Depending on the strength of the wind and the intensity of the rain, you have to make the best choice between adding the fur or the rain cover. Your experience and your ears will guide your choice!
For this protection to be effective, it is essential to waterproof the two fabrics that make up the first skin of the windshield, so that water does not penetrate the fabric.
DO NOT impregnate the foam itself, as this will trap water in its cells! The protection is provided with a 150ml Nikwak spray® . (see explanatory note).
As an additional protection, it is strongly recommended to wrap the external XLR plugs with food-safe plastic film!
